Dave’s Killer Bread began in 2005 at the Portland Farmers Market when Dave Dahl and his nephew brought some loaves of bread to sell. They knew they had something killer and unique, but little did they know how much these products would shake up the bread aisle. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, it’s now one of the largest and fastest growing brands in the world, Dave’s Killer Bread made over $1 billion in revenue in 2023 and is feeding families with organic and wholesome bread.

Their goal

The company needed cash to fuel growth, and the founders were interested in taking money off the table. They wanted a partner that would pay a high valuation and align and build on the core, brand vision and founding principles built by the founder: organic, local, supporting ex-felons and local farmers.
